Creekside RNR Luxury Glamping

Creekside RNR Luxury Glamping

If stargazing and quiet escapes in nature are your thing, then this is your place. If canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, biking, or snowshoeing is your thing, then this is your place. If being spoiled with gourmet meals, or enjoying a spa is your thing, then this is your place, too. Wait! Typically, you can’t have it all, but Creekside RNR has a mission to ensure you can. And for that, I give them two big thumbs up! This is luxury glamping and it all can be found creekside in Cocagne, New Brunswick.

Illusion Cabin

I will begin at the end with our most current stay at Creekside RNR, as my husband Eric and I just returned to experience this newest accommodations offering - an Illusion Cabin, also known as a Mirrored Cabin. Creekside RNR has added two of them to their property, The Orchard (where we stayed), and The Clover. Both are situated in a forest setting - and each one has its own cedar hot tub, fire pit area, and stargazing dome (which I discovered can be a sunny & warm daytime reading nook, or a fun snowglobe experience during a sudden snowfall, too). The nature setting for these cabins is sublime, and although they are side-by-side, they are completely private. Each one is individually tucked into a forest of your own, surrounded with beautiful evergreen and birch trees. We did discover though, we shared this space with several forest critters including a rabbit, we named “Jack,” squirrels, and countless birds. Jack kept me on my toes trying to capture a photograph of him during his first few appearances. Eventually I gave up, and just enjoyed his surprise encounters every few hours. Angele, the owner shared the woods are full of rabbits. Eric and I grew quite fond of Jack. He had massive big back feet, and happily hopped through our backyard paths, throughout our two-night stay.

Gourmet Charcuterie Board

We discovered that everything at Creekside RNR just keep getting bigger and better, and the Gourmet Charcuterie Board that we were treated to this visit, was a perfect example. Like last time, we enjoyed a special treat not long after we checked in, and we also savoured a breakfast box, and two individual dinner boxes. I have to confess the charcuterie board became our dinner our first night. It certainly filled us up! We had more of an appetite the second day, so the steak dinners hit the spot, although Eric overcooked the veggies a bit, so I am sorry to say there are no photos to share of that charred experience. In his defence, he was readjusting to using a charcoal BBQ. “Keep a close eye and stir often,” he advises others. Looking back now, we realize we could have also cooked the veggies in the toasteroven inside, but alas we were craving that BBQ flavour - just a little less well-done. Eric also suggests bringing BBQ sauce and butter with whatever personal groceries you desire, but other than that, we had all our cooking needs covered. We brought bread, milk, peanut butter, fruit, snacks & drinks, but the Creekside RNR Shop took care of the rest.

Creekside RNR Shop

The offerings in the Creekside’s RNR Shop are growing exponentially each time we visit. Creekside RNR puts the ‘glam’ in glamping with these local products, rentals, and services that enhance your stay. Your meal planning and packing preparations are a breeze because of it. These bonus additions mean you can sit back and enjoy your stay all the more. Shop online 24 hours before you arrive to guarantee your preferences, or take a chance and shop in person after you arrive. They really have thought of everything from s’more kits & snacks, to gourmet meals and desserts, to unique experiences and equipment rentals. Also find branded Creekside RNR apparel, gifts, and local Acadian souvenirs. Life is definitely s’more fun at Creekside RNR with this one-stop shop.

Mirrored Cabins

The concept of the Illusion or Mirrored Cabins is to provide an immersive nature experience for guests. Rest, relax, and meditate as you contemplate nature from the inside-out or the outside-in. The building is stunning on the outside catching reflections of its nature surroundings. The outdoor space allotted for each cabin is very spacious, so much so that it feels like you are deep in a secluded forest with pathways here and there to special relaxation zones. The view from the inside looking out is spectacular, too. Eric and I did find the cabin much smaller inside in comparison with the dome we stayed in last time, so we missed that extra space. At first, we missed the water views we had before, but having a large private forest of our own, and the adorable forest creatures that shared it with us, left us pretty smitten with this option, too. If you have a family, the domes are definitely a better choice, but for a cozy romantic getaway for two, the Mirrored Cabins are ideal. You definitely have options at Creekside RNR.

Nordic Spa

The Nordic Spa or Nordique de la Vie is another new addition to Creekside RNR. Eric and I enjoyed a three-hour visit during our most recent stay. Reservations are limited to six people during the same time slot, or you can pay extra to reserve it all. We got lucky and had the whole place to ourselves, and it was amazing! This optimal health and wellness centre is in the heart of another private forest setting is open to anyone, whether you are staying at Creekside or not. The Nordic Spa includes a modern building where you can relax inside and enjoy the essential oil aromatherapy and herbal teas, or you can head outside to the hammock chairs, or the fire pit gathering place, or to the lounge in the relaxation dome. There is also a red-cedar sauna, three red-cedar hot tubs, and a cold plunge pool for those wanting the whole nordic experience. Sit and enjoy the heat as you sweat in the sauna or hot tub for 30 minutes then plunge into a cold water soak and/or take a cold bucket shower, then repeat the interval circuit for 2-3 times to enjoy the health benefits and relaxation it offers. The main building also has a changing room, lockers, a shower, and a washroom. Housecoats and towels are also available. The birds and nature sounds, along with the soothing background music, and the twinkling lights wrapped trees, make for a memorable experience. The moon and stars made their appearance for us after sundown, making it truly magical.

Meditation and Yoga Centre

During warmer seasons, a forest bathing experience is offered, and guests and visitors are welcomed to also enjoy Creekside RNR’s Meditation and Yoga Centre. It has an open concept to provide guests with a deeper sense of connection with nature. Lululemon-featured mirror live workouts are available, as are meditation, and yoga experiences. Take a deep breath and find a deeper connection at your own pace, or participate in one of Creekside RNR’s pre-guided classes offered. The centre offers essential oil diffusers with a selection of oils, yoga hammocks, meditation pillows, and Tibetan bowls to enhance your experience. If you choose, you can also add the Nordic Spa experience, and select from Creekside RNR’s menu offerings of fresh press juices, smoothies, and/or meals. Walk the nature trails onsite, and enjoy some quality time in the heart of the Creekside nature forest.

Dome Away From Home

There are five different geodesic domes available at Creekside RNR, four semi-private with water views, all suitably named after birds native to the area: The Calibre, The Heron, The Woodpecker, The Jay, and one private nest called The Hive which is cocooned off in the trees by itself. The Jay was our dome away from home for two nights, on our first visit to Creekside RNR. What a warm welcome my husband and I received. We knew immediately we were in for an amazing retreat.

Glamping Time

You automatically switch onto glamping time at Creekside RNR. However, there is wifi - when, and if you want it. The hustle and bustle of the busy life you left behind is there, and you are here. There is no better feeling, and it was just what Eric and I needed. A convenient and seamless contactless check-in means you simply receive a message shortly before your 3 p.m. arrival with your entry key code access for the duration of your stay. It is that easy, and with that - the switch is flicked - and glamping time begins.

Star-Gazing

A quick dome tour (when we first arrived) had us very impressed. Front row and centre is a king-sized bed, behind a ginormous window into your forest world. There is a small dining area, with two chairs and a table, and two lounge chairs to position for great views with your morning coffee or for a fun tête-à-tête game-playing tournament with its side table and basket of various boardgames and cards at the ready. Note: The Mirrored Cabins also have a box of games available for your use. We also noticed a music menu this year with three barcodes to scan to upload various music playlists for free. What will they think of next?!

Happy Glampers

A pellet stove offers warmth and ambiance, and there are spare blankets to cozy up with. Heat can also be regulated through the mini-split unit (or AC during the warmer months). The Mirror Cabins offer a charming electric fireplace, a large throw blanket, and they also have a mini-split, and heated floors in the bathroom. No need to pack extra clothing layers. The temperature in both the domes and cabins are easy to regulate to your personal preference. I always bring along my own slippers and throws, but that is just me. The domes, like the cabins, are fully-stocked. You settle in, and are happy glampers in no time.

Epoch Coffee

A fully-stocked kitchenette with a refrigerator/freezer, stove-top burners, toaster oven, toaster, kettle, pots and pans, and utensils, leave you wanting for not much else at Creekside RNR. There is a coffee and tea station, that keeps any coffee connoisseur happy, with your choice of brewer from: Keurig, French Press or my favourite - a local Epoch Chemistry coffee experience offering. There is an Epoch information card, with a barcode to scan to watch a demonstration how to brew a perfect cup. If you fall in love with Epoch’s coffee - like I did, more can be purchased at the Creekside RNR shop. The same is the case for any other product you find in your dome or cabin.

Dome Sweet Dome

The mezzanine is accessed by ladder steps, and it has two twin beds with skylights, as well as, a great balcony view. What a great family getaway! The modern bathroom in the domes are equipped with a rain-shower head, and hand-held option. Thoughtful shampoo and conditioner dispensers, and hand soap is there, and thick terrycloth Creekside RNR bathrobes (which we greatly appreciated when running to and from the hot tub later). 100% cotton sheets wrap you in that final luxury when tucked in bed for the night, ready for stargazing before you drift off to sleep in your Dome Sweet Dome. There’s no place like dome, when you are at Creekside RNR, that is… unless you are in a Cabin Sweet Cabin.

Getaway Packages

Creekside RNR also offers special getaway packages. All include multiple nights, with a variety of local food and activities. One highlights a therapeutic massage, another includes a local restaurant visit, and a decadent birthday cake, and sparkling beverage. Yet another includes a private local oyster shucking service and fresh lobster. Find a package that works for you or just book your stay and bring your own supplies and/or select individual items from Creekside RNR’s shop. It is apparent that the founders have a strong interest, and passion for working in collaboration with their local community, artisans, farmers, fishermen, and businesses to support, and bring to you an unforgettable experience. This sets Creekside RNR a notch well above other glamping accommodations.

Bon Appétit

We loved the Romantic Charcuterie for Two the first time we visited - enjoying it as soon as we arrived. The ready to BBQ chicken boxes became our first evening’s savoury dinner then Joe’s Smokehouse Breakfast Box easily took care of our brekkies. There are many choices - something for everyone and every taste. I highly recommend you order from the meal selection of prepared and ready-to-cook meals 24 hours before you arrive just to make your life easier. It’s all Bon Appétit after that!

Cocagne, New Brunswick

The family-owned and operated Creekside RNR brings you an unparalleled accommodation experience in the beautiful southeastern region of New Brunswick. Nestled just on the northside of the small seaside village of Cocagne, it is positioned for the perfect blend of nature, wildlife, beaches, seafood, and many other experiences the area and resort have to offer. Venture out and explore. Canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and fat bikes are available for rent, as are snowshoes in the winter.

May the Forest Be With You

For us, it was the unique moments that made this experience so memorable. Watching two quails foraging the forest floor while sipping our morning coffees, or witnessing blue jays perched, and calling for their mates from branches just outside our dome, or searching for Jack, the rabbit while in our forest Mirrored Cabin. It is magical and serene here. While in the hot tub one evening, a flock of geese flew overhead in a moonlit sky. There is said to be an abundance of hummingbirds during the summer months here, and a resident eagle, too. You feel one with it all at Creekside RNR. May the forest be with you!

So, whether you enjoy being active, or just sitting a spell, Creekside RNR has what you desire. Soak up the natural beauty of the surroundings, and just Carpe Diem the heck out of it all. We sure did.
