Urban Threadz

Boutique Shop

Urban Threadz is the loveliest all-in-one boutique shop that first opened its doors in a charming 1840 heritage home in historic downtown Fredericton. I have been a regular customer and have introduced many to this beautiful boutique with clothing, accessories, home decor, and giftware galore.

Victoria & Scott Boer

Urban Threadz has evolved and become what it is today because of the dedication that Victoria (Vicki) & Scott Boer, the passionate owners, have given it. They go well above and beyond typical storeowners. They live on the top two floors above the original store and have never stopped thinking about what they could do next to serve their customers better, or offer something more. Recently… they did more… much more.

In January, 2023, Vicki & Scott opened a brand new Urban Threadz boutique at 100 Douglas Avenue. It is Fredericton’s newest one-stop shopping experience under one roof. Find ladies, mens and childrens clothing, as well as accessories, footwear, spa products, giftware, and so much more.

Canadian-Sourced

Vicki sources unique lines, 75% of which are Canadian. Urban Threadz customers reap the benefits and enjoy quality silks, cottons, linens, wools and bamboo from brands like: April Cornell, Desigual, Ezze Wear, Fair Trade Cotton & Organics, Frank Lyman, Fly London, J Line, Leopards and Roses, Libra, Molly Bracken, Neon Buddha, Novelti, Papillion, Pretty Woman, Rodan and Tom Tailor. Urban Threadz sources these clothing lines from Manitoba, Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver. They also buy a few special lines from Italy and Spain.

Urban Threadz

Urban Threadz offers elegant, comfortable women’s clothing & accessories that appeal to all ages & sizes - including an extensive offering for plus sizes. Whether you prefer a classic look, a graceful flow, or if you have a fun or funky side,Vicki has you covered. The one thing for certain is that you feel impeccably dressed and fashionably-styled when you wear a new outfit from Urban Threadz. Vicki's knack for sourcing her store with beautiful things comes naturally. An interior designer by trade grew into incredible eye for knowing what women want and love. She also has a head for business and she knows when a brand isn't working, so she moves it out and seeks new lines that call out to her on one of her buying trips.

 Much More Than Clothes

Pretty things, shiny things, sparkly things, colourful things, funky things, cozy things & always forever thoughtful things... Vicki has it all. That perfect hostess gift, birthday gift, stocking stuffer, and more. A wide range of artisan-made items, to beautiful home decor to Canadian-made all-natural products like soaps, hand creams, facial products, and bath bombs. Urban Threadz is much more than clothes and it is a proud supporter of giving back. Look for Carrier Bracelets, made in Quebec by jewellers with learning disabilities; Casa Relief products, a fair-trade, humanitarian relief effort that connects artisans and the Canadian market; and Giftologie - bracelets made from recycled trophies with proceeds donated to women's charities. Vicki says the best part about owning your own boutique, is that you can shop for unique items & support great causes that each have a special story.

Urban Threadz Friendly Staff

Scott is always busy sprucing up Urban Threadz. He has built most of the display shelving units inside the store and is often seen caring for the upkeep inside and out. Vicki runs the store like clockwork, caring for everything from staffing to accounting to ordering and maintaining a steady flow of new items coming in and great sales and promotions to keep the stock moving out. The store is always buzzing with happy customers getting great deals, discovering new brands, delighting in their latest finds, and vowing to return time and time again. Vicki is in her office most days running the show, but from time-to-time she wanders into the store and lights up with a great big smile greeting her customers like life-long friends. She shines like a brand new penny in her happy place at Urban Threadz. Her staff is trained to warmly welcome customers, but never pressure. They are helpful, friendly, assist when needed, and always say a polite, “Come back again.”

Urban Threadz Cash & Carry Sale

Forever changing things up, and evolving, Vicki never stops thinking about new ideas and you never know what you will find in her store or what great event she has planned from an Art & Fashion Show to a Bi-Annual Cash and Carry (and We Pay the Tax Too) Super Sale. "You know, maybe I'll open a Gelato Bar," she mentioned one day to me, "I've gotta think more about that." And I would not be surprised if it happens, as you just never know what she's going to do next. That's what makes it so fun coming to her store. You can enjoy a very comfortable shopping experience at Urban Threadz and customers, like me, love it. After your first visit, you will be back within a week with a friend or two and then they will tell two friends, and so on. That's how Urban Threadz has grown from its start to where it is today. Come see what the buzz is all about. Tell them the Maritimes Maven sent you!
